This is how you can binge watch and stat healthy

This is how you can binge watch and stat healthyThis is how you can binge watch and stat healthyDowning an entire season in one go has been the default way to watch TV for some time now. About 70% of Americans admit to being certified binge watchers. Surprisingly, occasional binge-watching has been shown to yield some positive results.UC Santa Barbara communication professor Robin Nabis media research with breast cancer survivors confirmed television to be an effective method of quieting major stressors.A recent study published in Psychology of Aesthetics, Creativity, and the Arts, showed how binge-watching dramas can boost emotional intelligence, particularly empathy.Follow Ladders on FlipboardFollow Ladders magazines on Flipboard covering Happiness, Productivity, Job Satisfaction, Neuroscience, and moraUnfortunately, as it turns out, you can have too much of a good thing. Healthline reports that habitually consuming more than three and a half hours of television at a time can lead to cognitive decline in both language and memory. Additionally, researchers from the University of Liverpool discovered that people that ate while distracted by TV ate 25% more than normal. AJapanese Collaborative Cohort Study found that excessive TV consumption could even lead to premature death.Wanna live to binge season three of 13 Reasons Why? Heres how you can, according to a psychologist.Counter-balanceBinge watching your favorite show isnt a problem in and of itself. It has more to do with the kind of unhealthy behavior being a committed couch potato tends to promote and the healthy habits it tends to mute. Psychologist Dr. Scott Bea identifies the sweet comfort of staring at a screen for three hours to be a chemical one. Its hard to pull yourself away- so have a plan before you start, says Bea.He suggests having a number of episodes in mind before engaging. This makes it easier to hold yourself accountable. Establishing a limit also keeps us from slipping into that mindless state that extreme Netflix trips seem to induce. If we know were only allowing ourselves three episodes, for instance, were more likely to remain focused and alert. To avoid the anti-social behavior associated with regular binge-watching, Dr. Bea says we should make a point to never binge alone. If youre gonna watch all eight episodes of Russian Doll at once, do it with a buddy or a partner. It forces you to interact and communicate, effectively breaking up the LCD spell. In this context, the show isnt just a mindless distraction its also a topic of connection and conversation. To that point Attempt to avoid watching TV simply to detract yourself as much as possible. Try to make it a mindful experience. Allow yourself to be compelled by the characters and plot lines not just enamored by the flashy colors on the screen. If you feel like taking your mind off of stuff, survey your options. Perhaps theres something slightly more intellectually fulfilling that you could be doing. This next one is a little heretical, but its also pretty resourceful.Everyone knows a good binge session loves horrible food, but what if we supplanted the Pringles curl with light dumbbell curls? Or maybe try speeding through your favorite show while on the treadmill at your local gym.At the very least Dr. Bea suggests we replace unhealthy snacks with fruits or other low-calorie bites. Air Force Fraternization Policies

Air Force Fraternization PoliciesAir Force Fraternization PoliciesThe Air Force fraternization policy is contained in Air Force Instruction 36-2909. The Air Force places a high value on professional relationships within its ranks, which are vital to the functional effectiveness of the service. The Air Force and its work environments differ greatly from what you find in a civilian work environment, with missions involving difficult challenges, hardships and the potential for injury and even death. As such, unit cohesion, morale, good order, ??discipline and respect for authority are essential to mission success, and anything that might interfere with the interests of the Air Force.? What Is a Professional Relationship in the Air Force? The Air Force defines a professional relationship this way Professional relationships arethose interpersonal relationships consistent with Air Force core values integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do. Military members under stand that the needs of the institution will sometimesoutweigh personal desires. Professional relationships encourage communication between members, and between members and their superiors. This boosts morale, focuses on the mission at pranke and preserves respect for authority. Personal Relationships and the Air Force Mission Normally, personal relationships of Air Force members are ones of individual choice and judgment however, if a personal relationship becomes a problem that affects the functioning of a unit, it is ceases to be personal and becomes an official concern. These are considered unprofessional relationships. The Air Force defines unprofessional relationships in this way Relationships are unprofessional, whether pursued on or off-duty, when they detract from the authority of superiors or result in, or reasonably create the appearance of, favoritism, misuse of office or position, or the abandonment of organizational goals for personal interests. Unprofessional rela tionships can exist between officers, between enlisted members, between officers and enlisted members, and between military personnel and civilian employees or contractor personnel. Fraternization is considered an unprofessional relationship. What Is Fraternization in the Air Force? The Air Force frowns on personal relationships between officers and enlisted members, both on and off-duty. Those engaging in fraternization can be brought up on Uniform Code Military Justice (UCMJ) charges. A relationship is considered fraternization even if the parties are in different units, different commands or even different branches of service. Fraternizations is defined in the Manual for Courts-martial as A personal relationship between an officer and an enlisted member that violates the customary bounds of acceptable behavior in the Air Force and prejudices good order and discipline, discredits the armed services, or operates to the personal disgrace or dishonor of the officer involved...Off icers must not engage in any activity with an enlisted member that reasonably may prejudice good order and discipline, discredit the armed forces or compromise an officers standing. The custom against fraternization in the Air Force extends beyond organizational and chain of command lines. In short, it extends to all officer/enlisted relationships. Any of the following actions or behaviors are considered fraternization. Officers are prohibited from Gambling with enlisted membersLending money to, borrowing money from or otherwise becoming indebted to enlisted members. Exceptions to this are infrequent, non-interest-bearing loans of small amounts to meet exigent circumstances.Engaging in sexual relations with or dating enlisted members. The Air Force definition of dating is broad, covering not only the traditional idea of dating as a prearranged, social engagements, but as anything that is more contemporary and would reasonably be perceived to be a substitute for traditional dating. S haring living accommodations with enlisted members. Exceptions are when it is reasonably required by military operations.Engaging in business enterprises with enlisted members on a personal basis. This includes solicitation for sales to enlisted members. Marriage and Fraternization in the Air Force Marriage in and of itself is not considered fraternizations or misconduct, and some situations exist that may be technically defined as fraternization, but these are exceptions. For example, the commissioning of a civilian who is married to an enlisted. But getting married does not shield service members from charges of fraternization. A relationship that begins between an officer and an enlisted member who then marry can still be considered fraternization, as the relationship was initiated contrary to Air Force custom.

How to Manage Entrepreneurial-Minded Employees

How to Manage Entrepreneurial-Minded EmployeesHow to Manage Entrepreneurial-Minded EmployeesHow to Manage Entrepreneurial-Minded Employees Bennington, Contributing WriterSee if this sounds familiar. Youve justbrought ona new hire(say a Gen Y or new grad) who you really like well, except for one small problem Theyre gunning to move up.Like, now.And while you think theyre just dipping a toe in their current role, theyre pushing for more responsibility and higzu sich pay. This is a very tricky and very common dilemma for managers today. In fact, I just interviewed a young woman who welches 12 weeks into the workforce and already frustrated with her career. She worked for a great company, had a great manager and liked her job so what was the deal? Get this Her position had a two-year promotion track. Two years is like a decade to me, were her exact words.ManagingRacehorsesI know, I know Youre thinking thats ridiculous and she should feel lucky to be employed, right? Well, frankly, thats th e problem. Because for as much as we like to moan about how long we had to pay our dues (and walk 8 miles in the snow) while insisting the next generation do the same, the fact of the matter is that its a different world.Yes, we can blame the parents for coddling their kids to the point thatthey expect you to cave in too.But it still doesnt change the fact thattop talent a.k.a. the ones we all want to hire are like racehorses behind the starting line. Theyre stomping, chomping at the bit, and just waiting for the doors of opportunity to fly open so they can chase the career carrot.Perhaps you recall the feeling. After all, its the reason you started your business in the first place. You wanted that entrepreneurial paradox of control and freedom. And so do they.Stoking Entrepreneurial EngagementAlright maybe you cant give them control. (After all, thats your job, right?) But there is something else you can give that means just at much if not more at this stage in their career. You ca n give them progress.Because heres the thing Its easy for new grads to feel as if theyre falling behind when were all surrounded by tales of 27-year-old CEOs. (Geez, even I feel behind sometimes) But if your hire feels that he or she is learning, growing, and advancing their skills and network they will reward you with employee loyaltyJust ask my first boss, Skip Lineberg, who turned what was supposed to be a temp job (for me) into a six year partnership not to mention a book deal.In retrospect, Im a little embarrassed to admit this but when I started working with Skip I asked for a promotion after just nine months. Here is the super-savvy way he managed it.First, he listened. He didnt try and convince me that I was too inexperienced or that nine months in the workforce was a little too early to get yippy about moving up. Instead, he heard me out and, after I made my case, he said hed give it some thought. Then, he asked me to prove my worth. He presented me with a simple one-pager called, Prove youre worth it. It was a list of 10 tasks I had to pick seven to complete in addition to the keeping up with the responsibilities of my current role. The list included things likePicking a system in the office I felt could be improved and telling him how Id fix it.Hosting a Lunch n Learn for the rest of the staff.Attending a professional development course.Reading a classic business book and writing a summary of what I learned and how I was going to apply it to my job.You get the idea.Next, a check-in. He asked me to check-in with him after Id finished a task or if I had any questions along the way. After that, I was on my own. And while my manager never gave me a formal deadline (I suspect that was a not-so-subtle initiative test) it took me about 6 months to get all seven tasks complete. However, when everything was said and done I got the promotion and he got to buy some time.He also got to evaluate how I handled stress, how I solved problems, how committed I was, observemy employeeattitude and if what I would bring to jumping through those hoops to earn that new position.Smart cookie, huh? This was definitely a win-win for both of us and an exceptional example of great management skills. So if your Gen Y workers or new grads or any employee really feels like theyre ready to move up, but youre not quite sure, remember Make em prove theyre worth it.If they are trust me they will.Author BioEmily Bennington specializes in two distinct forms of career transition college students entering the workforce and women leaders entering executive management. Moving from my Xiaomi Redmi 3 as my everyday driver, it is a completely new world. Child mode is really useful when youre handing your device to children, since the phone shows very restricted content and you maynot acccess many of the apps with it. Yo u can find this kind of service at once, all you need to do is to get in quntchen with us, and our team will be prepared to help at all times. Rooting your android gives your device more customization and total authority to utilize your device like you desire. In addition, this phone packs a battery of 2800mAh which isnt removable. And theres no streuwert scanner within this model. A fingerprint sensor is also feasible. While the accuracy of the fingerprint sensor i s very good, it requires a while for the phone to awaken and unlock. Gossip, Lies and Redmi 4a Now that you understand what you are likely to enjoy and love about the Redmi Note 4, have a peek at this telephone online. Thats the intriguing question If you anticipate buying the Redmi 4A but have some questions regarding the handset, take a look at our FAQ below. There is an easy answer to the way to remove Mi account, thats using Mi account unlock tools. The device may also be equipped with stock Android. It sports an app called Second Space that has been out since last calendar year. On the other hand, the smartphone is presently available on Gearbest with free worldwide delivery. It is among the very first smartphones with Qualcomms most up-to-date processor, the Snapdragon 820. The Rise of Redmi 4a With a huge 4100mAh battery, I managed to regularly get 6 hours of screen in time every single day without a problem. Its body has a matte finish that makes it very attracti ve to check at. Typically, It will take under 10 seconds for flashing. Then after follow these actions to root your mobile phone. The blue model particularly looks stunning, and it earns the device stick out in a sea of similar-looking metallic phones. The entire metallic body provides the user with a rather premium feel, and Xiaomi has very wisely finished the top layer of the phone with a powdered metallic finish rather than a glossy one. Added to this is a rather slim frame that provides the telephone style and appeal. A massive blaze is observed around the monitor. It feels tough and constructed to last, and it seems good too. The phone has a rather quick quntchen access. The size provides a wonderful compromise between obtaining a compact design and a huge screen for enjoying media. In well-lit conditions, it may take some amazing landscape shots. Sharpness is likewise a problem with a great deal of jagged edges and pixelation in any complicated shot such as dense f oliage. Why Almost Everything Youve Learned About Redmi 4a Is Wrong The results can be somewhat unflattering. The low light operation of the camera is not too excellent.
